Fire Alarm Circuits (Nav)
Fire alarms have come a long way from when they were first invented, having gone from pull rods to AI powred fire detectors. This navigation discusses the most basic version of fire alarm wiring, including conventional & adressable systems.
Terms
- Adressable Fire Alarm System
- 1. Uses user-set programing to allow for larger complex systems, less wiring, and.more customizability
- 2. Allows for pinpoint location tracking of a ongoing fire
- 3. Typically more expensive, used for larger locations
- Conventional Fire Alarm System
- 1. Uses relays and conductivity between circuits to determine when a fire is reported (through a pull station, smoke, etc)
- 2. Has a group of zones that gives a general location of a fire
- 3. Typically cheaper, used more for smaller locations
